Beef and Broccoli Recipe using Sunbird Seasoning Mix

Published:  01/07/2018

It's not ideal to use pre-packaged seasoning mixes but in a pinch this makes a tasty easy meal, especially if you preprep all the ingredients and pull it together at the last minute. I actually investigated all the ingredients in the seasoning mix and there is nothing that I am concerned about except perhaps the sodium content. The rule of thumb is to ingest less than 2400 mg sodium per day so if consuming something that has high sodium in a day eat lower sodium items the rest of the day.

  • Sunbird Beef and Broccoli Seasoning Mix
  • One pound broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 pound flat iron steak or flank steak sliced thinly and then cut into 2 inch pieces (to make it easy to cut thin slices use a good sharp knife) Other cuts are Top Sirloin or Sirloin Tip (both are also great for kebabs), outside skirt steak, inside skirt steak.
  • ½-1 onion sliced and cut into bit size pieces¾ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons reduced sodium or Lite soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil

Follow directions on package.
